Lex Koller, explained for expats
Switzerland restricts the purchase of residential property by people abroad under the "Lex Koller" law. Your rights depend on your permit: Swiss citizens and C-permit holders buy freely; resident B-permit holders can usually buy their primary home; cross-border commuters and non-residents face conditions, authorization requirements and cantonal quotas.
